The Pegasus Scheme

The Pegasus Scheme has officially launched across our region. This initiative is designed to support individuals who may experience difficulties communicating with the police, whether due to neurodivergence, disability, anxiety, or other factors.

How it works:

Free to join for anyone living or working in our area.

Individuals can register online providing basic details (held securely) and only accessed when needed.

Once registered online, individuals will receive a Pegasus card and a unique PIN.

In an emergency, all that is required if for the registered user to say “Pegasus” and provide their PIN. This will then allow call handlers to access key information to tailor their response.

The card can also be shown to officers in person.

Pegasus is about more than communication—it’s about reassurance and ensuring people feel safe and understood during stressful situations.
